Today I went to the les carrières de Paris better known as The Catacombs of Paris. It was very kewl and very strange all at the same time. So your like underground in these tunnels and on every side of you there are thousands of skeletons. I mean the walls are like 6 feet thick with human bones! Wall to ceiling for what seems like forever. Its truly a surreal place.

After that I went to the Canal Saint-Martin and walked the 4.5km canal. For any of you who have seen Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain (Amelie) the scene where Amelie is skipping rocks on a canal was filmed here.

Tomorrow I'm off for Brittany where I plan on spending some time. Brittany is a province of France (like a state in the US). They are supposed to be very much like the Irish which would make sense because they both are descendants of the Celts.

I saw that picture of Skeletons in Lord of the Rings. Gimley is crushing the skulls under his feet as he walks through the tunnel. I never knew a place like that existed. What was or is it? Old burial ground? I'm jealous French wine in Paris. I hope you savored every sip! That canal looks like the place where Demi Moore was a writer & her son fell in & died & than her husband set her up to kill her, I forget the name of it, pretty scary movie. You are having quite an adventure, I look forward to reading it every day. Keep up the good work & the pictures are incredible. One of the castles you took a picture of is one of the pictures that came with my computer as a screen saver. I want every one to know that I sent Peggy flowers and the card said from the Monahan kids & Dannekers. love you...
Movies, Moveis, Movies...... some people dream about Hollywood and some people live here.... Yea, I am living the dream! :) I wanted to know where the skeletons came from too. I could look it up but that would entail work. Where are the tunnels from WWII that Charles d'Gaule (sp) headed up and used as part of Le resistance (sp)? Are those the same ones? This is obviously a Chris question cuz he's the college educated one and I am not. He likes history facts so please include those in your narrations of places. Not only what they are, but what happened there. I am glad you finally figured out how to insert pictures in your blog. I was ready to teach you! It makes it easier for us to picture where you are at without having to refer back and forth. I am glad you are going back to the Irish type people. Since you never mentioned partying with the English, it sounds like they weren't much fun. Thanks Colleen for sending the flowers to Peggy. Michael will give you his credit card number! Love always
I think it is awsome all that you are doing. It sounds like you are having the time of your life. Enjoy it while you can!!! I remember from when I was in Europe that everyone is so different and you feel like you are in a whole different world. My favorite places and best memories were France and Italy. If you got to Italy you must go to Venice. Please take pictures of St. Marcos Square.
All your pictures are beautiful and they just make one dream of what it must be like to see all the wonderful things you are seeing.
By the way Denise, I think Michael gave the credit card number because David put up the pictures. lol
Like Colleen I look forward each day to reading Davids stories and checking out all the comments. Sure does give you a good laugh at the end of the day. The best are Michael's I do have to say. I love his English........He dreams with the Hot zone......lol
Anyhow hope you continue to have a good time and to keep us all up to date on all your fun adventures. Again it is something to look forward to at the end of the day.

Hi David! It's your Mom! Colleen and I are having the Arbor Crest wine that you and Marlene gave Colleen and Ed. It's verrrry good! You didn't stay in England very long? I hope you'll go back there and see Scotland and Wales as well. You will love the people there, they are so friendly! I'm glad you had bitter!, it's great! When Bev and I went to Paris, we found the people weren't very friendly. Lots of anti-Americans. We loved Paree though. Ask Bev about William and Bernard, our waiters, hehe! Also, the Harlem Globetrotters! We got kissed by all of them! They were on vacation, too! Things are fine, back on the farm! We love you !! By the way, Colleen told me to tell you that she is glad you did not hava sex with that woman. Thank you so much for keeping us all posted on your adventures.
