Way Out !

Well London is crazy! There is so much to see and once you have the tube down getting there is not half bad. Its just getting back home that is hard. By now luckily I have been here long enough to find my way back and even using the fastest route! Oh and by the way 'Way Out' is the British was to say 'Exit' which I find extremely funny. Sounds more like something you would hear a surfer in California say then a business man in the middle of London.

So lets see...I have seen all the major sites I think. I have seen Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Westminster (and of course Big Ben), Westminster Abbey, St. James Park, Buckingham Palace, National Gallery, Tate Modern, British Museum, Soho, Brick Road and I'm sure many other alternative places that Jill took me too. There is so much to see. I have been doing a ton of walking. Its amazing how many of the main sights are not really that far apart. I do find that I am very tired at the end of the day though.

I'm am constantly amazed by the shear size of things. I mean they don't do anything small here. Every building, every statue, every fountain...they are all huge! Another thing I find really interesting is that you can see a thousand year old building next to the most modern looking building you have ever seen. This is very normal for London and is makes suck and interesting contrast that you can't help but stop and stare. I'm also amazed and the areas you don't hear about. London has many faces and I could see almost anyone fitting in some where.

So like London is like way out dude...lol.

Sounds like London is more city and Ireland is more country. Is that about how it is? Do they celebrate Holloween, or is it just us Americans. I would like to say WOW to everything that you have seen, but I only know of Big Ben and the London Bridge (from the song). I have heard of the other stuff but don't know what they are. My experience is rather limited I am afriad! Is Picadelly circus a real circus? They make poato chips right? :) It's good to have Mary and Aaron joining the party with us! I like hearing from you regularly so we know you haven't been grabbed by bad men! Hugs and kisses

Yup..thats correct. Ireland for the most part is all country (very green country). Dublin is the exception but even Dublin is only 1 million (as apposed to say London that is 10 million).

Piccadilly Circus is a square or public meeting place. Piccadilly is a cupid I think and there is basically a square (really its a circle which is why they call it a circus instead of square) with a statue of Piccadilly on the top. So no unfortunately its just one of those crazy British things and not a circus with animals. I do think I have eaten their chips before though and they were even good. ;)
For more info see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piccadilly_Circus

I think everyone celebrates Halloween. If not from their history the do now due to advertising. This last weekend most bars had Halloween themes going and many people were dressed up. It reminded me of West Hollywood...then again we were in the gay district of London. :)

Actually the statue has Eros on top. So I'm not sure where the name Piccadelly comes from.
